Team
At St Paul’s we are team…
John and Dot’s favourite place to be is out on the hills, often the Malverns as the Cornish coastline is usually too far away. But when they can you’ll find them out on the cliffs near Lizard in southern Cornwall.
Lead Pastor
Our team is led by Dot Burnett, supported by her husband John, who is a Communications and Engagement manager for the NHS.
Dot is a dynamic leader, overflowing with enthusiasm and energy (usually!! – she is human sometimes!), passionate for God, with a heart for Jesus and people. She is a great team builder and encouraging mentor.
Dot is passionate to see the church own their inheritance in Christ, to walk in victory despite circumstance, and for their lives to be captured by God’s love hope and joy which will impact the way they live, families, workplaces and communities.
Working alongside Dot is a senior leadership team, a highly capable team of trustees, elders, a staff of nine, and ministry leads. Underpinning the leadership teams is a huge volunteer base and the generosity, passion, and faith of the church congregation.
Youth Pastor
Charlie Pierson is our amazing youth pastor. Charlie is passionate in his own faith, loves Jesus and wants everyone to know what a difference a relationship with a living God makes. Charlie loves the youth and has great vision for leading them on, discipling them and encouraging all young people in their faith walks.
Charlie has also just married the beautiful Kirsty and together they are a God powerhouse! Kirsty works for Malvern Theatre, loves drama and is a fantastic actor. She brings a quality background support for our youth and has a prophetic edge, speaking into situations with wise observations. We are so excited God has called them to serve among us. Both Charlie and Kirsty have studied theology and the performing arts at Regents College in Malvern. (PS Charlie is a great actor too 😊)
Children's Pastor
Jo Mistry is a welcome addition to our team as Children’s Pastor. Jo has a passion to see children develop in their own faith in Jesus and she draws together a wonderful team of volunteers to help deliver a great programme on Sundays and during the week to help them.
Jo has a heart for young families especially those who find life difficult and find themselves needing that extra bit of love, support and family time. She brings life experience and Jesus’ compassion into the way she serves our children and is looking forward to developing the children’s department.
In her spare time (??!!) you may well find Jo delivering all things first aid as she is a qualified first aid instructor – she keeps us up to date with our training and we appreciate her expertise.
