The Vision and Values we hold together as a community define what we are and how we do things. They create what some call the ‘DNA’. We encourage those who want to join us on our journey together to become Partners. Partners are committed to our vision and values. Becoming a Partner means you consider yourself part of our St Paul’s church family. We recognise that we need to work together as Partners on a mission – to make a difference in our city and further afield.
To be a community that enjoys God’s grace and extends his glory.
1. Loving People.
The story that unfolds from Genesis to Revelation reveals God’s everlasting love for his creation. He loves what he made. He loves people and longs for people to understand that they are at their best and most joyful when they love God. Our desire is to express God’s love to people!
2. Making Disciples.
This is the command of Jesus. A no option declaration of intent. Disciples are followers of Jesus and learners from Jesus. We too want to love Jesus and learn from Jesus. Our desire is that as many loved people as possible discover hope, life, joy and grace in Christ Jesus and then follow and learn.
3. Building Teams.
No one is an island. We are interdependent on one another and need each other. Teams express this and reflect the nature of the body of Christ. We don’t want any loved follower of Christ to stand on their own. Life Groups are mini teams. Leaders must work together as teams each honouring the strengths and gifts of others.
4. Growing Kingdom.
And this is the result! Loved people become disciples, work together in teams and naturally extend the Kingdom of God in their everyday lives. The Kingdom is bigger than the church but the church is the primary agent of Kingdom transformation. Together with other churches across the city we seek to grow the kingdom in every sphere of life.
We are focused on a small number of key ministry areas:-
LIFE GROUPS: are the foundation for pastoral care and discipleship. Each Life Group is overseen by a senior leader and our dream is that ‘no one stands alone.’
YOUTH: working with our 11-18 year-olds.
KINGDOM KIDS: everything from cradle to 11 years old.
CITYCARE: a whole variety of groups and activities designed to transform and disciple the city.
MEN and LADIES: a variety of events and activities, specifically designed to gather together and support our men and women.
