Last Christmas St Paul’s hosted a community banquet – more than 100 folk from local communities attended. We had a community Christmas choir entertaining us and some magnificent food and fun together. Locals are still talking about it now! This year it’s going to be bigger and better. To help cover costs, we’re organising the St Paul’s PEAKS 4 POUNDS challenge.
The challenge.
This involves a trek up the three highest peaks in Yorkshire in one day – Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – a total climb of more than 2,000 metres.
Those undertaking the trek will gather at a campsite, in the shadow of Pen-Y-Ghent on the evening of Friday, September 21. Where they’ll spend the night under canvas and hike the three peaks the following day.
Following another night camping after the trek, they will return after a hearty breakfast on Sunday, September 23.
Are you up for the challenge.
If you want to join us, you’ll have to be fit. Available for the weekend, and willing to camp out for a couple of nights.
In return we can guarantee a lot of fun, some hard work and a lovely glowy feeling inside, when you’ve completed the challenge and raised lots of money for the community banquet.
If you’re interested, please give your name and contact details to Peter Boyd, or give the church office your name and contact details. Or email the church office now, by clicking here.
We’re going to arrange a get-together before the trek. So we can chat through the timetable, and make sure we’re all ready for the event.
Most importantly, if you are joining us for the Peaks 4 Pounds Challenge. Please do all you can to spread the word and raise sponsorship. It couldn’t be easier – we’ve set up a gofundme account. Just send this link to all your friends via email/facebook/twitter etc:

We’re also going to print some flyers you can hand out to your friends/family members. They are also available to download below. Letting them know about the challenge and how they can sponsor you. Alternatively, if you don’t want to take part in the trek, but would like to help by sponsoring the team. Please visit our gofundme page and pledge some money. – If you’d like to help spread the word, please feel free to forward the link to your friends on social media.
Every penny counts, so even if you sponsor the team just a few pounds, it will be gratefully received.
Thank you.
